Care Instructions
Before leaving our woodshop, all our products are polished and coated with a food-safe, eco-friendly oil that makes them resistant to liquids, heat and staining.
Cleaning your natural wood product
Wipe lightly with soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not put in dishwasher or soak in water.
Natural wood products require a little bit of thoughtful care. Here’s how to keep yours looking its best:
Condition both sides frequently, or whenever wood looks dry, with a food-safe mineral oil or butcher block conditioner.
FAQ: I have some surface wear from knives on my board. How do I make it look new again?
Once a year, use an orbital sander and sand surface using 120, 180, 240, and 320 grit sand paper, in this order. Clean surface with an alcohol wipe and fully dry. Seal with a food-safe mineral oil. Let sit for at least one hour and wipe away excess oil with a microfiber cloth. There are many videos on YouTube on how to care for black walnut and epoxy cutting boards/charcuterie boards.
